To get your creative juices flowing we’ve included a few suggestions below of how you could use the royalty-free sounds from the SFX Cellar - UI Button SFX Pack in your own projects.
Adding Sci-fi Sound Effects to Video
One use for some of the royalty-free sounds in our SFX Cellar - UI Button SFX Pack is to add a sci-fi feel to button pushing.
We’ve got step-by-step instructions to this in our comprehensive guide to adding SFX to your video, but we’ll give you a general overview here.
In the guide we start with a clip of someone pushing a button on an old-style radio. If we want to make it feel like this button is being pushed on a spaceship, we’d better ham up how it sounds with a sci-fi style button sound effect. A sound like SFX Cellar - UI Button 22 is perfect!
Of course, a couple of customary beeps and bloops – not to mention the occasional buzz – will all help to give the impression that the button being pressed does not merely switch on a radio, but in fact engages the Millennium Falcon’s hyperdrive. Sounds like SFX Cellar - UI Button 49 from our UI Button SFX Pack are perfect for this. You might even find some good options in our SFX Cellar - Woosh pack.
To add to the ambience of your spaceship, you’ll want to include a bit of room tone. Here the sound of an air conditioning unit could do an excellent job of impersonating your ship’s ventilation system - you can find air conditioning and other background ambiences in our SFX Cellar - Background Ambiences Pack.
